My milkshakes brings all the pain to the yard.

Yesterday and today have been awesome!

 

Yesterday my wife and I made grand plans to go to the Rec center and hit the indoor pool and do about 2000 laps. When we got there we learned that the inside pool is closed while the outside pool(s) are open. We went out there and found… PEOPLE. Well, since I’m not brave enough, nor cruel enough, to grace the public with my naked torso yet, I have this nice Nike fitted tank I planned to wear. BUT THERE WERE PEOPLE! And not just people, but people swimming laps who looked like they knew what they were about.

Thankfully, fate saved me and we didn’t bring any sunscreen. I don’t tan. I burn, peel, repeat. Not fun.

 

So, instead we took our dogs for a walk last night to hit a pokestop, and I felt good enough in my new shoes to actually do some jogging! I jogged about half the length of our street (from the corner to our house) on our way back, and knew I could have gone further. That’s awesome, cause last time I did any jogging it was not pretty.

 

Then today, I kidnapped my wife and we hit the pool about 7, since I figured it would be less crowded—and it was! My plan was to go for about an hour, but after my first full lap I knew that wasn’t going to happen. Did about 30 minutes instead, which is still something.

 

And now! Now! I’m going to share a super simple recipe that really isn’t a recipe, more like an excuse to shower you with pictures and tell you what my favorite protein shake is—

 

Chocolate Peanut Butter and Banana. Mmm… just saying it makes my mouth water, and I just had one!

 

First, here are the things you will need (not exactly of course, but similar!)

Peanut butter! This is a flax seed and chia crunchy butter we got from Trader Joes. Has an… interesting taste on its own, but is amazing in this shake!

Almond Milk!

We bought a case of this stuff from Costco, warm. It doesn’t expire until sometime in 2017, so it’s great if you don’t drink a lot of milk but want to have some on hand for shakes =)

 

Chocolate Protein Powder

 

You can of course use any brand you like, but this one so far is my favorite. No bad aftertaste, uses stevia for sweeteners, and tastes like chocolate!

 

Banana!

Also, ice water and a blender =)

 

So, in total that’s:

Peanut Butter – 1/2 TBSP

Almond Milk – 8 Ounces

Chocolate Protein Powder – 1 scoop

Banana – 1/2 to whole

Ice & Water. You can just add ice if you want a thicker shake. I like mine really liquidy, so I used 8 ounces of water.

 

Just add everything to your blender of choice, and have at it!
